This picture was taken in my own home, in Dublin, Ireland, I am self-taught new photographer, learning through trial and error mainly and through researching online. Sky was just let out of the cage and to tempt him I put millet seed on a perch while I took the photoTime
This photo was taken the evening I got my new flash, which was a surprise gift from a good friend of mine for Christmas. It was a dark evening so the blinds were closed early and sky was let out, so he could fly around. Sky has gotten used to camera by now and is willing to come right up to the camera, the flash hadn't frightened him a bitLighting
The only lighting I had was the LED ceiling light and the new flash with the diffuser box, so nothing special. This appreciation shows me that now much fancy equipment is needed to take good photosEquipment
I used the Nikon D5300 with a Nikon 18-200mm along with the Neewer TT560 flash that I had just received. No tripod was used since sky is always flying around the place.Inspiration
Honestly, nothing. I bought a camera to capture moments in time, so I am always trying to take as many pictures as I can. Some photo end up good, while others not so good. I just enjoy taking photos and trying to figure out what could have made the photo better.Editing
Yes some, I cropped the photo such that the sky's eye was the main thing that caught peoples attention. Then I played slightly with the colours so the background seemed more warm, but since this is was the first photo i tried editing using gimp I didn't do much, just cause of the lack of experienceIn my camera bag
Since I am an absolute beginner all my equipment is 2nd hand including my camera. So I just carry my Nikon D5300 and 18-200mm lens. I have 2 spare batteries for the camera and a set of spare batteries for the flash and the soft box for the flash. I take the flash with me if I know the where I am shooting and if its indoor only. This is because my bag only has space for the camera and 1 lensFeedback
Just keep shooting and hope for the best. I honestly dont know what else to say, since its a living animal, they wont listen to what you say
