Location
This picture was taken at the Old Scituate Lighthouse in Scituate, MassachusettsTime
I got up at 4:30am to leave at 5am for an hour drive. Haven't been to this location before I looked around the area for a few shots to take and this was one of my first taken at 6:57am.Lighting
I wanted to make sure I could get the Moon in this shot during the Blue hour before the sun came upEquipment
This shot was taken with a Canon 5D MK4, Canon 17-40mm lens, Induro tripod, Platypod Max, Ultra, and a Really Right Stuff tripod head.Inspiration
I've been wanting to get more Lighthouse images so I searched for some in the area that wasn't closed during the pandemic. Pictures I seen looked great so I wanted to get my own that I didn't see already taken. I wanted a low angle with a beautiful sunrise but the sky didn't cooperate as I wanted but I am super happy with the Blue hour look.Editing
My editing process starts with Adobe Camera Raw making my adjustments then I bring it into Photoshop for some more tweaks. I run in through Topaz Noise AI then curves & color balance. In my camera bag
For my landscape shots, I have my Canon 5dMK4 & 7Dmk2 and my landscape lenses are Canon 17-40mm, 24-105mm & 70-200mm. I also carry 3, 6, 10 & 15 stop ND filters as well as a 3 stop ND grad, a remote trigger, Platypod Max & Ultra.Feedback
For any type of landscape images do your research on weather, sunrise/sunset times, sun 0r moon location (use an app), check how long it takes to get there so arrive early to get all setup. Shoot from different angles (I like low angles) and viewpoints.
