This photo is taken in kuala selangor in malaysiaTime
Taken at 4pm in the afternoon as the thermals have to be right for this Brahminy Kite which is a type of eagle to flyLighting
Lighting not that so I increased my isoEquipment
Canon 1DX11 plus 100-400 lens - focal length was 400Inspiration
These eagles are not easy to photograph so it’s a test of panning skills as they fly very fast. They are beautiful birdsEditing

I check first what I am going to shoot and then have the shot I want to take in my mind. Then look at the equipment I need . This shot is taken from a moving boat and only one lens is needed - I also keep a polarizer and cleaning cloth in my bagFeedback
Think what shot you want to achieve and think what camera settings you will need and if possible do a test shot . For a fast moving subject like this - you will need to use burst mode on your camera and look at the lights and adjust your controls - need to try and focus on one part of the bird only - the head
