I too would never have believed this lake is at the end of a difficult 1.5 mile rocky hike with an elevation gain of 1135'. Finally you reach the lake at the top of a "Saddle Back Mountain" with elevation of 7323'. A rare beauty indeed!

I used to visit this lake often as a child, around 30 some years ago when it was visually untouched by human visits. The highway was just a two lane road at that time, not a big raised 4 lane highway.. Good memories, thanks!
