Location
This photo was taken from my backyard in Sedona, Arizona USA. It was a particularly foggy morning, and the sun had just come out. I loved the misty quality of the air that morning.Time
I took many photos that morning, but felt this was the best of the lot due to the color of the rock formation and the contrasting colors of the plants. It was taken on December 11, 2020, at 11:00 in the morning.Lighting
The foggy morning gave the surrounding landscape a surreal quality. As I took photos progressively through the morning, the light increased as the fog diminished. I feel this shot has a good balance of light and mystery.Equipment

I am blessed to live in an incredibly beautiful area. I’m always on the lookout for new shots of familiar landscapes with varying degrees of light and atmosphere. Fog is rare here, so I was grateful to take advantage of the atmosphere that morning.Editing
The only adjustment I made was to crop out a small amount of the foreground to obtain a better balance to highlight the rock formation. The color was not adjusted.In my camera bag

Humidity enhances the redness in Sedona rock formations. Otherwise, the rocks can appear dull and washed out. Light changes rapidly here, so if you see something you like, capture it quickly. The Golden Hour is always good for capturing brilliance in Sedona landscapes.
