Location
This image was shot one one of the many backtrails at Vancouver's world famous Stanley Park. It is one of my favorite spots to shoot landscapes, nature and wildlife.Time
This was shot around 7:00 on an overcast, slightly colder than usual Fall morning. I like shooting early at Stanley Park, before the heavier traffic arrives. This lets me capture a greater sense of isolation, as I did when I noticed this couple walking about 40 yards ahead of me. They had no idea I was behind them.Lighting
This particular trail is under a pretty dense canopy of leaves and limbs, so the lighting can be spotty yet beautifully moody. I waited until this couple hit a good patch of light before firing off a few shots.Equipment
This was shot on my trusty Nikon D850 with a Sigma 24-105mm lens, hand held.Inspiration
My inspiration for this shot was quite simple... the fabulous light and mood! I just had to be patient and wait for these folks to arrive at that patch of light.Editing
This absolutely required post-processing, which I did on Lightroom. Needed to bump up the shadows considerably, and tweaked the whites a tad in order to enhance the mood and add some detail to the tress along the path.In my camera bag
I always have my Nikon D850 and a few lenses. Nowadays I usually have a Nikon 24-120, Nikon 50 prime, Nikon 70-200 and Nikon 500 PF in my backpack, along with charged batteries, tripod, extra memory cards, lens wipes/dusters, etc.Feedback
Patience. Patience. Patience.
