Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in a small village in Valencia, Spain.

Time

I took it at a very early hour in the morning. It could be arround 6A.M of a sunny summer day (I think it was arrround 27 June, but I am not quite sure

Lighting

I wanted to capture the red light, mixed with the orange and yellow of the sun, but I also wanted a bit of blue. I wanted to give the palm tree a first shot, with a black tone to make it noticeable in the photo.

Equipment

I just used my phone, no flash or filters, just one shot. After that I used the photo editor from mu phone

Inspiration

I am a travel lover. I love nature, landscapes and even more the sea. Nowadays it is quite difficult to find a place that is not crowded, a place where you can relax and enjoy nature as natural as it is, without huge hotels and tourist accommodations. That day I woke up and was able to enjoy an authentic place like only a few times in my life. I just wanted to capture that feeling of freedom and connection with an authentic place.

Editing

Yes, I did a simple process. I just fit the basic tools, like contrast, saturation, brightness...

In my camera bag

I just used my phone

Feedback

I think it is so important to feel a connection to the landscape you are photographing. It is very complicated to capture it if the landscape does not mean anything special to you. So my advice is to photograph a place you have a connection to, that represents a feeling or emotion that is special to you.
