While on my Honeymoon in December we took advantage of photo opportunities. And on our way home we drove into a tiny town called Wahlsburg, Utah and on our way out onto the main road I saw the beauty of the calmness of the water with barely a ripple in the water, and wanted to hurry and capture what my mind could see. And what a beautiful and spectacular picture this turned out to be,

This has to be one of my favorite pictures it was taken at 12:21 P.M. I am Pamela’s husband and I write this with her permission. Pamela used to take even more beautiful photos in the past. She currently has some mobility issues due to an injury and I accompany her now to haul her stuff and provide some safety for her, looking for cars and make sure she doesn’t step wrong. In recent years, the cruelest injury has been to her memory. An injury that cannot be fixed. When you look at her pictures it is the beauty that her eyes see and to that end, memory or no, the eye sees what it sees. When you look at her pictures you also have to imagine a person who sometimes looks at the settings on her camera and can’t really make sense of them or remember why they are set that way. It truly takes an inner strength to keep going out there and struggling with the mechanics of how to take the beautiful picture she sees with her eyes. I see first hand her struggles and frustration to get the picture’s she wants. Now you know the woman Girl Behind the Lens that I know and love.Lighting
The sun was at the right angle, the water had just the right amount of ripple to it and the reflection was perfect. I could see in my head what I wanted the picture to look like now was the time for it come to life in the camera.Equipment
I shot it with a Nikon D7200 18-140 lens 3.5-5.6 ISO 400 48 MM F9 1/320 NO tripod was usedInspiration
since my stroke I see the world and photography differently, I a saw peacefulness calmness and solitude. The lighting was perfect the rippling of the water and the way the mountain reflected on the water captivated me. So I took a chance "what else do I have to lose?" and it turned out exactly what my mind and my eyes saw inside. My brain is very visual in that respect I see things in a different perspective.Editing
Yes I did do some post processing but due to the memory loss I can’t remember what it did to get the picture "Brighter" then it came out of the camera I can not tell you and for that I'm sorry. In my camera bag
