Great mood.

The latest monthly challenge of 2020 and you are part of it, isn't that great. If you haven't won yet this year, "The December 2020 Collection" offers you one last chance. Good luck and a very Happy New Year.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the road to Milford Sound in New Zealand, in the area where the Lord of the Rings filmed the Misty Mountains scene, hence the name of the photo.

Time

I took this photo early/mid morning, probably around 9-10am. It was taken on a day when the area got so much rain the roads ended up flooded with a lot of people trapped and unable to return along the road. This was one of the rare times it stopped raining on that day, allowing me to capture this image.

Lighting

I simply took advantage of the natural lighting in the area to capture that mysterious feel.

Equipment

I used a Sony HX90V camera, nothing else.

Inspiration

Where i live the weather rarely provides an opportunity to take photos of mist and i thought the landscape i was in was so intriguing thati wanted to make the most of it and take as many photos in the area as i could.

Editing

This photo is completely untouched, i decided this photo, with the lighting and colour contrast, worked well without needing any extra touches.

In my camera bag

I have only a Sony HX90V camera and a small tripod about 10cm tall.

Feedback

My best advice would be to take photos of things even if you don't think it will turn out well, because i have often found things i thought would look washed out or plain have turned out to be some of the best photos i've taken.
