Location
I took this photo at my Grandparent's Farm. I stood in thick, tall grass near a dam to watch these little Wrens flitter around and call to each other.Time
I had taken this photo on 7th November 2020. I had stood there for a few hours in the middle of the day. I got burnt by the sun but I didn't care as these little Wrens were so captivating to watch and take photographs of. They were very curious of me and kept flying around to see me without getting too close.Lighting
I wanted to show off the colours and beauty of the blue male Superb Fairy Wren while showing how green the grass was.Equipment
I used Nikon D5600 with a 55mm - 200mm Lens.Inspiration
I wanted to show off the personality of the Superb Fairy Wrens and how close these little Wrens are to each other.Editing
I used noise reduction to get rid of the noise and grain in the image. I then sharpen the image and added an watermark. In my camera bag
In my camera bag, I have my nikon d5600, a 55mm- 200mm lens, a 18mm - 55mm, a spare battery, a speedlite and a tripod. Taking photos of wildlife can be hard if you don't have the right lens which is why I have my telephoto lens with all the time.Feedback
Lots of patience. Be prepared to take a lot of photos and make sure to have a telephoto lens on hand. I stood out in that field where I found the Wrens for at least 2 hours in the hot sun to get some really good shots. The flew away and came back and flew away again. I had to have patience, a fast shutter speed and willingness to not give up to get the shot.
