Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in the front yard of a house I was staying at. The people who owned the house were really big green thumbs! They had a beautiful garden, full of flowers, which attracted a bunch of butterflies and bees.

Time

If I remember correctly, it was a kind of overcast day during the morning.

Lighting

It was a kind of cloudy day, which made the colors richer.

Equipment

I used my Cannon Rebel XS to take this shot. I think it is one of my best photos.

Inspiration

I saw the beautiful butterflies and the bees flying and buzzing around each other. They would often settle on the same flower and I found it really cool that two completely different creatures were just sitting there, minding their own business. I also noticed that the butterflys wings were damaged, but I wanted to make sure I got a photo of the rest of its colorful body.

Editing

Again, if I remember correctly, I didn't edit this photo at all.

In my camera bag

I don't usually carry a bad, but I always have my camera or phone, ready to take a photo when ever the operativity shows itself.

Feedback

Just sit a while and the insects will ignore you, so then you can get really close, focused shots.
