Inspired by the style of landscape painting i the Danish Golden Age from the first half of the 19th century - described as “depicting northern light that is soft but allows strong contrasts of colour. The treatment of scenes is typically an idealized version of reality, but unpretentiously so, appearing more realist than is actually the case”.

This is a panorama photo, taken by my iphone - the best camera is the one you have with you in the situation.

Behind The Lens

Location

I was heading for an appointment in the city area of Aarhus, Denmark. On a bike path alongside beautiful nature, as this field with cattle grazing.

Time

It was in the morning in middle of october. And the weather had a dash of ‘indian summer’. No wind and an atmosphere of tranquility.

Lighting

Inspired by the style of landscape painting i the Danish Golden Age from the first half of the 19th century - described as “depicting northern light that is soft but allows strong contrasts of colour. The treatment of scenes is typically an idealized version of reality, but unpretentiously so, appearing more realist than is actually the case”. en.wikipedia.org-wiki-Danish_Golden_Age#Landscape_painting

Equipment

Normally I photograph with my a6000, but I only had my iphone with me - the best camera is the one you have with you in the situation.

Inspiration

This is a panorama photo, and I have previous shot photos of cattle. These animals are perfect models, moving slowly, focused on the photosession, driven by curiosity. Therefore also good conditions for shooting panoramas. And this is a panorama photo with a fine balance between the cow in the foreground and the scenic view.

Editing

In my post-processing, I discovered the unique light captured in this motive, which I tried to emphasize.

In my camera bag

Tripod, Sony a6000 + diverse lenses, waterproof Panasonic DSC FT30.

Feedback

I often take pic of my family using the iphone, and I’m mostly surprised by the results. I would never treat the lens of my a6000 like the iphone stuffed in the pocket without a cover on the lens.
