Behind The Lens

Location

This was a fall display outside of a local restaurant. I was struck by the structure and bright colors.

Time

Photo was taken in the late afternoon. The light was fading but I very much like the warm afternoon fall light.

Lighting

Lighting was all natural.

Equipment

The photo was taken with a Nikon Z50 and the 16-50 zoom. Handheld.

Inspiration

I love patterns and the bright colors that contributed to the photo. I usually do black and white but this photo really called for full color.

Editing

No Post-processing

In my camera bag

Current equipment includes the Z50 with the two kit lens, a set of filters including polarizing, ND and for fun a Blue/Gold filter. I usually use the on-camera flash but I also carry a Nikon ss-400 flash. I really like to travel light so I keep things to a minimum.

Feedback

Look for patterns and colors. Try to take some black and white which forces you to focus on patterns and structures. Once you see the patterns add color back to the mix.
