Pilot House

Pilothouse from a very old wooden boat. This is one of the last Cypress Lugger Tugboats. The remains of the boat can be found in Destrehan Louisiana next to the Ormond Plantation. The name of the boat the pilothouse came from was the Denver. Lugger-type boasts were first built in Louisiana during the earliest colonial times. They were typically rigged with a four-cornered lugsail which is where the name comes from.
