I spend a lot of time in nature and have been to many beaver dams and lodges. This beaver along with three others had moved from a higher pond to this new location.I never got to see them at all over a year going there. This day late in the season i came across the whole crew going about their beaver day.Time
The photo was taken late afternoon and the wind bowing in the direction of the beavers.Lighting
Sun was a little bit of an issue bleaching the colours.Equipment
I travel where most fear to go or are smart enough not to .lol So I travel light just my camera spare batteries and some survival gear.Inspiration
I love beavers with their tight knit family structure .They are the worlds best engineers and create marshland for many other species to thrive. They are fascinating to watch with their many beaver only like traits!Editing

Well to get animal pictures you must not try to control nature. Running up to capture a pic will result in a blur of the animal running or swimming away. The best approach is to walk slowly in a non treating manor with your arms down at your side towards your subject critter . When u feel your in range take your first shot lifting the camera very slowly. if your lucky the animal will still be there repeat procedure every 12 ft or so remembering sudden moves or excessive noise is your demise . Also no perfumes of any kind . This method was learned the hard way and serves me well as I am older slower but smarter .lol
