Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was captured in my vegetable garden. I always save space in the garden for sunflowers????. The bees Love Love Love them. Plus they're so darn photogenic.

Time

This was taken around 7-8pm. My favorite time of day for nature photography.

Lighting

During the summertime the natural lighting in the evenings allows for some truly magical Nature Photography. Depending on your composition you can punch up the drama or highlight the softness of nature's true natural colors.

Equipment

Honestly this was taken with my cell. A Samsung with camera settings at; f/2.4 and ISO 100.

Inspiration

Nature's Beauty

Editing

Yes, I cropped this photo and softened it just slightly to blend in the edges of the darker orange color. on the petals

In my camera bag

I carry the bare minimum in my camera bag. Camera, 3 different lenses, a polarizing and ND filters, and of course camera and lens cleaning supplies. Oh and Split ND filter to balance the light and dark areas. This filter is great when foreground and background need different exposures.

Feedback

Find a flower garden, or simulate one. In the colder months I will buy bouquets of flowers at my local grocery store (after they've been marked down for quick sale). And have fun experimenting with different lighting and camera settings. Then enjoy having fresh flowers at home - often.....in the name of work and learning. Right?
