Location
This photo was taken in a nature reserve where they use these cattle to graze the meadows.Time
The shot was taken at 1046h in late October. Light was still ok.Lighting
With nature photography the best time of day to get good results is either during the early morning / morning or from afternoon until last light. However, in order to get some good shots from animals, natural light and a bit of a sunny day are the minimum requirements for a good photo.Equipment
The camera used is a Canon EOS R5, with a super tele EF 600mm f4, because of the distance. Usually I would use a Gitzo tripod with that equipment but the tripod was not at hand immediatly and camera and tele were rested on a stonewall as solid support.Inspiration
Actually it was the scene that required me to jump into action, that was all. On the other hand since then, I am consindering to start a series on the various cattle breeds available in Europe.Editing
My post processing is mostly done in LRc, with changes on lights, shadows, depths and middle colours, though not much.In my camera bag
Usually the equipment consists of a Canon EOS 5D m iv, EF 24-79mm f.2.8, EF 70-200mm f2.8, EF 16-35mm f2.8. and an EOS R. When it comes to wildlife photography I also take with me the EOS R5 with the EF 600mm f4.0 L ii and the EF100-400mm f4.5-5.6 L ii.Feedback
Simply go out and shoot. Consider what you want to do during the day and plan accordingly when to be where and to shoot what specifically.
