This photo was taken in Alresford, Essex of the church ruins about 28 years ago.Time
I took this just after sunset so it was dark with a little bit of colour let in the sky.Lighting
I used a 30 second exposure, while the shutter was open I ran round the churchyard with my flash and lit some of the church and use a red filter over the flash to light the foreground.Equipment
I used a Canon 1000fn 35mm film camera. Not sure of which tripod and flash I had back then.Inspiration

These days it’s much easier to do this kind of photo as you can see the results straight away. Just keep adjusting the shutter speed and f stop until you get the pic.
