Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at Petworth park, I’m a self taught photographer that loves taking long walks in all sorts of environments snapping away at whatever takes my liking.

Time

This photo was taken in the early afternoon at the start of autumn back in 2020, this photo was taken hand held with a 150-600mm lens that has manual focus (autofocus has stopped working) so was a bit tricky to get the focus on point!

Lighting

It was late afternoon and the sun was on its way down, the deer was facing towards the sun, feel rather blessed to have been here!

Equipment

I used a canon EOS M50 with a sigma 150-500MM lens

Inspiration

I love deer and I had the chance to take a trip to Petworth park, I couldn’t resist so I made sure I took my whole photography set up to get some landscapes and some portraits of the beautiful deer.

Editing

I used Lightroom to proses this shot only doing small touch ups nothing too special as I like to keep the photos looking as natural as possible

In my camera bag

My backpack has the kit lens (18-45mm) F3.5, canon 50mm f1.8 sigma 150-500mm F4-5.6, I use a viltrox speed booster with both 50mm and 150-600mm lenses. I have a carbon fibre tripod for when I’m taking landscapes I’ve got NISI filter system and filters too and I also own a DJI magic air drone so that is usually in my backpack too. My backpack is a USA gear backpack.
