Behind The Lens

Location

This is a photo of the 'Pinnacles' on Dorset's Jurassic coast, UK.

Time

Due to family commitments I was unable to get to the location at either of the golden hours. The image was taken in the early afternoon.

Lighting

When I arrived it was a little grey and overcast unfortunately. I think shooting here at either of the golden hours would be fantastic.

Equipment

Gitzo Tripod Nikon D850 on a long exposure using Lee Filters Big stopper

Inspiration

Loved the curve of the cliff with some grass in the foreground and the interest of the Pinnacles in the distance.

Editing

Minor Lightroom adjustments in exposure, highlights, shadows and contrast.

In my camera bag

I'm lucky enough to own a fantastic Nikon D850 which is easily more than enough camera for an amateur like me. I have a large number of Nikon lenses, zooms and primes, ranging from 14mm through to 500mm. Gitzo 2 & 3 series tripods. Lee Filters collection

Feedback

Take your camera with you when ever you go out for a walk. Plan an image at a location and don't be put of with poor weather, just adapt and make the most of the conditions.
