Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the local park where I take my children to run off some of their energy. The park does not have much in the way of facilities, but it does offer ample opportunity for games of hide and seek, which is what the kids were doing when I took the photo.

Time

This photo was taken mid afternoon at the beginning of autumn when there was plenty of light but this was a dark corner of the park surrounded by trees.

Lighting

I put the phone on the ground to get this perspective and had to move it around a bit to get enough light.

Equipment

This shot was taken with my iPhone 11. Depending on the trip I use either my iPhone or my old Canon which I am in the process of replacing.

Inspiration

I’d seen this technique of shooting on the ground talked about in some tips for iPhone photography and wanted to try it.

Editing

I use Snapseed for post processing and used it in this case to add a little extra blur to enhance my main focus.

In my camera bag

Canon EOS 450 + telephoto & macro lenses

Feedback

Try shooting from different angles, can make an otherwise boring subject more interesting!
