Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at the entrance of the terrace of the Bigallo Hostel in Florence Italy

Time

Photo was taken midday around 12:30 after Anita clean the road leading to hostel for 2 hours.

Lighting

The light indirect sunlight bouncing of the orange clay walls of the terrenve which made the highlights and the shadows softer.

Equipment

Photo was shot on a Sony A7R with Carl Zeiss Planar T* 50mm f/1.7 (C/Y) lens

Inspiration

Anita's mission to clean the road inspired me to take the picture, in order to do what I can to give her some exposure.

Editing

I corrected the exposure and pulled the shadows up and suppressed the highlights, added blueish green to the shadows and and orange to the highlights to correct for skin tune.

In my camera bag

Sony A7R with Carl Zeiss Planar T* 50mm f/1.7 (C/Y) lens

Feedback

A light camera with a fast (even if it is old an manual ) lens goes a long way Look for light portals specially where light coming in is reflecting off a bright but rough surface If wonder a little out of the touristy places you can find lovely spots If you are lucky enough to meet someone as lovely and creative like Anita Grey make the most of it.
