I took this photo in my flat in Brighton UK, Ana is a dog of a friend from Cincinnati US who was staying with us for a few weeks. It would get rest less if you left here alone, So I brought her too my room so she can relax. She was so beautiful I had to take a picture of her.Time
I remember this very clearly. I was working from home on Friday afternoon and was one the skype meeting, when I realized Ana is calling from me from the living room. So I brought her in, she calmly lied on the on the carpet under the sun.Lighting
I didn't set the lighting, I just realized there is great light and mixed with dark red tint that is coming in because of my curtains.Equipment
I shot this on a Sony A7R with a 50mm Yaschica/Contax Ziess Planar T* F1.7Inspiration
She looked so calm, and she was looking into my eyes at me several times when I looked at here. I felt some kind of bond. So I should record this memory.Editing
I did some do editing on this. Exposure is not changed but the contrast and the colors are edited by changing saturation and luminosity of each color to create my idea of a simulation of film. I know its not really like film but I liked it so it stayed. In my camera bag
Sony A7R with a 50mm Ziess Planar T* F1.7 or Pentax 50mm SMC takumar F1.4Feedback
Use natural Light, Specially if you can modify it by half blocking it or changing the color taint. Use Manual Old 70s lenses they are great and feel great to use. Have patience when working with animals. Develop a bond, you can tell when they keep eye contact. Then you can make them look through the lens.
