Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was shot in my home studio. I purchase flowers from my local markets, arrange them and shoot.

Time

Anytime of the day

Lighting

I used a single continuous 45W 5500k led installed in an umbrella

Equipment

I used a Sony A7III with a 90mm macro G with a 4X converter. Mounted on a Tripod. I also connect a 42" LG monitor to help with focusing.

Inspiration

For years I have always admired photographers that captured images so magnified that the image takes on a new form. Creates art. The world of macro photography is so infinite and powerful. Learning this form of photography has allowed me to expand my creativity.

Editing

This image was created by using a Focus Stacking process. Before any processing was done, I shot the image at 16 to 20 different focus points using the camera's timer and silent shutter to avoid camera shake. I use Helicon Focus 7 to process the composites to create a single tac sharp image. Focus Stacking overcomes the short depth of field with extreme close ups. Lightroom and Photoshop are used for final post. This image was not cropped in post. It was composed in camera.

In my camera bag

That varies, I've just purchased a Sony 200 to 600 G. So at the moment I normally pack 90mm , 200 to 600, a speed light and a tripod

Feedback

For indoor extreme close up Focus Stacking. Make sure the camera is securely stable.
