7 years ago, i took a similar black and white photograph of my aunt, Bee Jee, which made its place in the prestigious HIPA awards held in Dubai.
Ive been using my cell phone for photography lately because of time constraints and mostly because i thought i had said farewell to the portrait photography i used to do.
Today after 4 long years I took out my Dslr, covered all in dust with a drained battery, to pay tribute to this iron lady, Bee Jee, who lost her husband while she was young, she brought up three daughters, got them educated and married. Then faced a lifechanging setback when she lost her daughter recently, but she stood tall. Then faced yet another setback by losing her long time friend, protector and advisor, her younger brother. But shes standing tall mashAllah.
Bee Jee, you've shown the family what true strength is and we are very fortunate to have been under your shadow. May Allah give you more strength, good health and a long life ameen.
