Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo as I walked out the front door of our house. There had been a cold snap the previous night, which triggered some of the plants to start turning.

Time

I took this picture just after noon on October 10th

Lighting

The sky was partly cloudy, which provided a lot of light even with the sun behind a cloud.

Equipment

I shot this photo with my Moto Z4 Play phone, set to Auto, no flash

Inspiration

I am a great fan of fall colors and natural settings.

Editing

I use the Snapseed app (from Google/Alphabet) to process my photos. I tend to use some of the "auto" features, then fine-tune the settings by reducing them by 2/3. For example, if the Tune image tool sets the brightness to +16, I manually change it to 5 (16/5 rounded). If the tool sets the Contrast to -34, I manually change it to 11.

In my camera bag

I tend to use my Moto Z4 Play for most of my photography, since I have it in my pocket at all times. When I do a planned shoot, I have a DaVoice Quick Release Plate connected to a Bestshoot Phone Tripod Mount Adapter (with the Remote Controller) that I attach to a tripod. This makes it possible to take night shoots, or do bracketed photos.
