This picture was taken on one of the trails at The Nature Center in Springfield, MO, with a Canon PowerShot A1000 IS, set to auto. There was a young couple on a deck, and they were enjoying the evening blowing bubbles. I then used the GIMP, with the G'MIC plugin, to add a duplicate layer, apply the Bokeh effect to the layer, then used a mask to remove the Bokeh effect from the bubbles.

I took this photo while my wife and I were walking along the Boardwalk Trail in the Springfield, MO Conservation Nature Center trails. We were at the end of our walk, and saw a younger couple standing on the deck, blowing bubbles. I asked, and was granted, permission to take a picture of the bubbles as they drifted slowly away.Time
This was one of our afternoon walks. The time of the day that we talk our walks is determined by the temperature, and this was a nice cool April day for an mid-afternoon walk in Springfield. It was 4:04 p.m., which put the sun to our backs as you face the deck from the trail.Lighting
The angle of the afternoon, along with the partly hazy day, created a nice reflection on the bubbles. It also enhanced the contrast of the shadows on the branches and the bark, as well a the nice shadow just under the knothole of the bubble in the upper right hand corner of the photo.Equipment
This was shot with my Canon PowerShot A1000, set to auto mode. This camera comes with a 6.2-24.8mm lens. The aperture (F4.5), flash (which, being set to auto mode, did not fire), and other features were automatically set. Image stabilization was on. As a result, the exposure time was 1/125 second, with an ISO of 80.Inspiration
I was inspired by seeing the young couple enjoying the nature trail, as well as their having some fun.Editing
I used the GIMP program to increase the contrast of the photo, and make the picture "pop". I had also experimented with elsamuko's Lomo plugin, trying 16 different variations of lomography, but decided to use just the popped version. In my camera bag
Being an amateur photographer, I do not have an arsenal of equipment. I usually carry my Canon A1000 with me, as well as whatever smart phone I am using at the time. The Canon is always my first choice, and it is usually set on auto, unless I am trying for a particular mood or setting. I also carry a few sets of batteries, just in case I go hog wild with taking a lot of pictures.Feedback
I find that opportunities like this present themselves when you are enjoying life. We were taking a nice walk on the trails, enjoying the sights, sounds and smells. I'm also a people person, in that I enjoy watching other people loving life. For this photo, the young couple was taking time to have fun, and shared a moment with us.
