Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture in my son’s backyard. I love flowers plus just about anything and everything about nature. It’s all about the colors and textures that draw my attention.

Time

I was getting ready to leave and go walk the beach so this was taken on the morning around 930 am

Lighting

Nothing special on the lighting. I’ve owned some type of camera since I was 10-11 years old. I’ve never taken any course in photography but I love gardening and was really drawn by these flowers.

Equipment

I’m actually not sure if this was shot with my D3400 or my iPhone XR since my camera is programmed to download to my phone. I will be more aware in the future so I can let everyone know what equipment I’m using.

Inspiration

I had taken a picture of a single bloom on this same plant approximately 5 weeks before I took this cluster. I was excited to see how much the plant had grown in such a short time

Editing

Nothing changed on this picture I just try to fill the l lens till I’m happy with the shot. About the only thing I ever do is crop some of my pictures that I’m submitting. I loved my film cameras in the past. What I really love about the digital age now is that I can take massive amounts of pictures but I can also delete the ones that I don’t want.

In my camera bag

I currently have a Nikon D3400 with a Nikkor 18-55 and 55-200 mm. Otherwise it’s my iPhone XR which I always have. Depending on where or what I happen to be doing if there is something that really draws my attention I’ll grab the Nikon D3400. In the future I’ll most likely step up and go back to a Canon camera. Really hope to find a shot that will as good or better than this one and win a camera!

Feedback

The only advice I can give anyone is to be aware of the colors and textures all around you.
