Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken in the grounds of my local church, in beautiful Cornwall, UK. It's a very small garden, but very abundant in bees and butterflies.Time
It was about mid afternoon, during the time when the light is just starting to move towards the golden phase.Lighting
There was nothing needed in terms of lighting...nature did its best.Equipment
This was purely a handheld camera shot, taken on my smaller Canon powershot, on Macro setting.Inspiration
I have a love of bees and this was too good an opportunity to miss, with it just sitting in the perfect position, in perfect light... it's not often that everything comes together without a lot of patience and perseverance!Editing
I like to keep my shots as natural as possible, which means the only thing I usually do is crop to get better composition. That was all that was needed. In my camera bag
I take my Sony a7, my kit 28-70mm lens, my 7artisans 60mm Macro lens, cleaning kit, spare batteries, and my Canon Powershot SX410....it all fits pretty snugly, with my mini-pro tripod attached on the bottom.Feedback
Try to get the lucky shot, and if that fails, be prepared for sitting around, taking many shots which just don't quite cut it, until you finally get one you're happy to share
