This Guy Is My Friend

I know throughout my life I've always had a connection with animals. Even more so in my professional life as a Cinematographer and Photographer. I'm not sure now if I'm emitting some kind of animal loving "code" or what these days but, this giraffe singled me out and made a B-line to actually check me out. We had this staring contest that went on for almost 7 minutes. In that seven minutes I was able to shoot some iPhone pictures and one or two Canon 5D pictures of which is what you're seeing in this picture. He came so close I could barely get the shot. I've had this connection with wild elephants in South Africa but, not Giraffes. Most Dogs always come up to me first and I had this cat on a job in Colorado that would always come up to me. In Peru, I had this toucan come and wake me up every morning for the two weeks I stayed in these huts on the Amazon River. The list goes on. Beyond this, I don't know what to say about this Giraffe. I did not have any food as this was in a Zoo where the people could feed the giraffes. This was entirely something else. We just connected, eyes to eyes. The last couple of years this animal connection is getting stronger or so it seems.
