Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in Two Hills county, Alberta. I was on my way home when the sun was setting in September. I pulled over and took a bunch of pictures.

Time

In September, the sun begins to set earlier. It was around 1930hrs. The sky was looking beautiful.

Lighting

I was heading west into the sun. The clouds were looking dark as rain clouds and I thought it looked great.

Equipment

I used my iPhone 11 max pro as I didn’t have my Nikon D3 with me at the time.

Inspiration

I have always liked taking pictures of sun sets and the riding of the sun. The was the sun was sitting and the clouds were just inspired me to snap a picture.

Editing

I did a little bit of processing. Turning down some of the saturation and turning up the vibrancy to bring the blues in the sky out.

In my camera bag

I have a Nikon D3 with my 300 mm, a 80-200mm and a 50mm are what I usually carry.

Feedback

Timing and patience. Usually I have to ride around until I find a great spot.
