I photographed this pretty little bee while walking along a path in Western Oregon. While it was a little cool out for bees, I was still stopping to peer into most flowers I passed - I didn't see many other bees, but this little one sure was beautiful! This is an Agapostemon species (probably Agapostemon virescens) also known as a green metallic bee or sweat bee. It was foraging in a Tolmie's star tulip (Calochortus tolmiei.
