Location
I took this photo at Los Roques, Venezuela. It is an "archipelago", a group of small beautiful islands, that are known for the turquoise color of the sea and white sand. I called this image "Paradise" because it is what the place represents to me: a relaxing beautiful piece of Nature.Time
This is one of my favorite photos and places. It was around 11 a.m. I was taking a walk along the shore, when I was impressed by this view. I had to take a minute from my daily walk to capture this beautiful image. I had to make sure the sand did not get into the lens!Lighting
Venezuela does not have four seasons. It is always warm and there is usually a lot of light (except when it rains). I wanted the image to show the essence of Los Roques and its turquoise beaches. The different tones of blue of the sky and ocean and its bright light that reflects on the white sand.Equipment
I took this photo with a Canon Power Shot SD750. (No other equipment was involved).Inspiration
Los Roques is such a beautiful place that it is really hard to not get inspired by it. It is a relaxing place with the sound of the waves and the colors. I really was not looking for the perfect image. I was just walking along the shore when this view caught my attention. The combination of the driftwood on the foreground, with the sand and the different tones of blue of the sea and sky seemed so balanced to my eye: I had to snap a photo!Editing
As a beginner photographer I use the Snapseed application to edit my photos. I cropped the image, to bring the driftwood forward as it was too far. I also cropped the sky to give relevance to the ocean. I increased the saturation of the colors and contrast. In my camera bag
I am new to photography, I always have my samsung cellular phone in my bag. My cell phone is my camera. (I no longer have the camera I used to take this photo). I hope as my photographic journey continues and I learn and improve, I will acquire more sophisticated equipment.Feedback
When you are in front such a beautiful scene it is very easy to get lost in such beauty. It is important to remember the basics of composition, choose a clear subject. Play with the colors, the different tones of blue vs the whites of the sand. Crop extra sky to give focus to the sea. The angle in which you take the photo is important. But above all it is important to live the experience and "feel" the view, this way the photo will communicate the feelings to the viewers.
