Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo of Kirkstone Pass in Cumbria, UK.

Time

It was taken around midday after driving through Windermere on a cloudy day.

Lighting

It was taken in natural lighting, the cloudiness of the day made the lighting quite soft.

Equipment

I took this with a Canon 700D with an 18-55mm with no other equipment.

Inspiration

I was doing a landscape project for my A-Level photography. Living in the British Lake District, it was the perfect place for this project so I drove around the lakes taking photos. This was one of my favourites of the day.

Editing

I don't like to edit my photos too much. With this one, I just did a spot of colour grading in Photoshop.

In my camera bag

Masking tape, gaffer tape and spare batteries are always a must on shoots. You never know when you might need a piece of tape. Of course, my Canon 700D goes in there. I usually have my 18-55mm kit lens, Quantaray 85-210mm f/3.8, Hanimex 28mm and a Neewer M42-EOS adapter. The vintage lenses were given to me by my late father.

Feedback

The British Lake District is a beautiful part of the world with many unique aspects. It's the perfect place for beautiful shots but make sure you bring an umbrella because it rains more often than not!
