This is Saf, she's a Tabby cat that I've had for about 7 years. She turned up at our house incredibly malnourished and with a poorly leg; she's now thriving. It was a bit of a challenge getting this shot as she kept trying to rub her head on the camera.

Location
This photo was taken in the garden of my family home. It's a country home in the British lake district. It has a somewhat large garden for our pets to run around in.Time
I was visiting family as I live in London. Whilst I was there, I wanted to get some pictures of the animals as there aren't many opportunities to do so in the city. One afternoon in the late summer, I took them all outside to take photos.Lighting
I love playing with colour and contrast. It had been wet earlier that day so that helped with the contrast of the background. I chose a shady spot to photograph her is so that she wouldn't have any harsh shadows on her face.Equipment
I used a Canon 700D, Quantaray 85-210mm f/3.8 lens and a Neewer M42-EOS lens adapter. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
My cat, Saf, is incredibly photogenic. I wanted to capture her in a way that really showed off her markings and how cute she is.Editing
I only did some minor editing. I adjusted the levels slightly and made it black and white in photoshop. I didn't feel the need to do anything more than that.In my camera bag
I have a mixture of vintage lenses that belonged to my late father along with an adaptor so that they fit onto my Canon 700D camera. I have a background in film so I always carry batteries and tape as you never know when they might be needed. My Quantaray 85-210mm is my absolute favourite lens for shooting a subject, it can make absolutely anything look decent.Feedback
Get a cat that will sit still! Saf kept trying to rub her head on the camera which was less than ideal although I did end up with a lot of funny out-of-focus close-ups of eyes.
