Location
This photo was taken on the French Riviera, more precisely in Nice. It's a shot taken from the top of the road that leads to the shore of the sea.Time
This photo was taken exactly on August 19, 2015 at 5 pm. I chose that time not for a specific reason but because it was my first hours in France and the normality of those hours for the French caught me. I remember walking admiring the scenery when looking towards the sea my eye imagined this photo, so I took the camera and took it without tripod or stabilizer, I just wanted to immortalize what I saw!Lighting
When I reviewed the photo, I realized what I wanted: people have to see that photo like a postcard. I gave priority to both the shade of the beach and the light of the sea, I looked for a continuity: at the bottom the photo is much darker than at the top.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon EOS 1200d, with an 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. No other equipment was involved.Inspiration
As I said before the normality of those French hours.Editing
At the beginning I wanted to give more color to the sea, but it didn’t seem right then to publish an unnatural shot on a photo site, even if there would be a lot of changes in post-production on this photo, but it would be in contrast with what I wanted to show people. In my camera bag
The first thing is my Canon EOS 1200d bought in the far 2015, two photo lenses respectively 18-55mm and 75-300mm, a JJC lampshade for Canon, two spare batteries if needed, various chargers and wires for connections to the computer or other sources of entry, a Moukey Mcm-1 microphone, two SD and the cleaning kit for professional photo cameras Zacre 14. Another essential thing form my photos that I usually carry with my backpack is the National Geographic 129cm tripod.Feedback
The first advice is obviously to photograph a landscape that affects you emotionally (and this often happened at down or dusk) because to do this tapes of photos we need a lot of patience, so finding yourself photographing something that doesn’t attract you is just a waste of time. Patience is essential, you have to wait for the correct light, you have to eliminate any element of distraction. Capturing the right light, the most likely colors and the rarest situations that can happen is not easy. There are no precise rules to follow, just give your art a voice. The only advice I can give you is certainly not to photograph at noon because the sunlight is too strong and would ruin your composition. One thing that can help you a lot in these shots is the use of a tripod.
