One intense sunset or sunrise! Red sky at night sailors delight, red sky in morn, sailors forlorn.

Behind The Lens

Location

At Davistown on the Central Coast

Time

I was out hunting for good shots during the day and as sunset started setting, I noticed how amazing it was. There was no way I'd let this go without catching the perfect shot & I think I got pretty close.

Lighting

I wanted to really catch the right angle for the lighting with this shot as some of the images I got were a bit darker. I actually used an umbrella to give my camera a bit of shade so I was able to get the best result.

Equipment

It was shot on a Canon EOS 1500D, 18-55mm lens with a tripod. I don't leave home without my camera bag.

Inspiration

It was such an amazing sunset, I would have been silly to let this go without a few shots. I am so happy I was out and about looking for a great opportunity during that weekend. I honestly wasn't going to go anywhere.

Editing

No post-processing, I didn't need to. Nature provided everything I needed.

In my camera bag

In my bag of goodies I have my Canon EOS 1500D, a UV cap, three lenses - 18-55mm, 75-320mm & 12-25mm, a spare battery and extra memory cards.

Feedback

As always, my best advice is to always find time to get out there and be prepared to do a bit of driving. Pack a lunch, some water and plot out a rough idea of where you want to be. Some of the best shots are taken when we least expect so, don't leave home without your camera!
