Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken while exploring a campground near the Suwannee River. This boardwalk was over 1500' long and led from the campsites out to the banks of the river over classic Florida swampland.

Time

It was mid-morning on an overcast day.

Lighting

The gray skies filtered natural light through the swampland's canopy.

Equipment

This photo was taken with the camera on my Samsung s8 cellphone.

Inspiration

The contrast of the overhead canopy and the neutral boardwalk was stunning. I framed the shot geometrically to show depth and draw you into the picture. The additional color from the fallen leaves broke the unless monotony of the brown boards.

Editing

I did use an editing app to accentuate color, brightness with HDR filters.

In my camera bag

Usually I have my Canon Rebel EOS T3i with EFS 18-55mm Lens, but not that day. So glad I had my cellphone.

Feedback

Spontaneous situations can inspire at anytime. Even if you don't have your usual equipment, take the shot. The results can be both surprising and rewarding.
