Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo over Sydney's Winter Swell of surf at Avalon Beach, NSW. At the time I was taking a lot of photos of large waves and from time to time snapping surfers walking back around to the Pool to jump off the rocks and paddle out quicker.

Time

I took this photo in the morning

Lighting

I liked the lighting when I took this shot and knew it would work in black and white

Equipment

fuji xt3, no tripod or flash.

Inspiration

The inspiration was to time the splash with the walking surfer.

Editing

Yes, I post processed in Adobe Lightroom by changing some tones and adjustments.

In my camera bag

I usually have my fuji xt3 camera with the kit lens and a 55-200 fuji zoom lens.

Feedback

Try to hang around headlands that overlook ocean pools where surfers rock off to paddle out.
