Behind The Lens
Location
I shot this photograph on my aunt's farm in South Jersey. He is standing inside a chicken coop that is abandon. As you can tell the coop is falling apart.Time
This was taken during the evening hours. It was sometime close to golden hour.Lighting
The lighting is natural. I used a texture over the image to make it look a little dark in some spots.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon Rebel T6i. The lens I used was 18-55mm. The tripod that I used was the Promaster XC522.Inspiration
I was shooting for my final portfolio in college. My portfolio was supposed to be about the netherworld realm. I was into a spooky themed photoshoots. I also think that the plague bird mask goes really well with what is in the background.Editing
I used Photoshop to put the texture filter overtop of the photo. I also made the shadows darker and pulled in more contrast in Lightroom. In my camera bag
I always carry my Canon Rebel T6i with 3 batteries, 64gb card, remote, 50mm lens and 18-55mm lens. Then I have my tripod in a separate bag. Also I just got the Canon Mark IV not too long ago and sometimes I bring that with me to use with the 50mm. Also always carry cloth wipes for my lens.Feedback
Find an abandon place that is safe to utilize. Think about what the theme of your shoot is going to be. Always make sure you have a back up model. Look at other artists work online to brainstorm and help you think creatively. Know where you are buying your costumes from. Ask your models what clothing they have to make the cost of costume cheaper. Always bring your creative imagination where ever you go. Because you might see a photo come to mind when you find that shooting spot.
