Location
The photo was take in my dining room at home. Normally on this wall I have one of my own 8ft x 4ft paintings but we took that down and stood Geoff on a couple of white blocks. The girls took great pleasure in taping him to the wall and they decided to tape his mouth shut too. Then it was just a case of removing the white blocks in editing.
Time
This family photo shoot was limited to the weekend because of the girls school hours and I think it was around 1.00pm
Lighting
This was natural light. When I designed and built our house I wanted loads of natural light and this particular room has large patio doors to the right of the shot and and large window high up on the left so it was a bit like using 2 large soft boxes.
Equipment
Canon EOS 5D mk2, Canon EF 24-105 zoom on 35mm, Manfrotto Tripod

Inspiration
It was really just a bit of fun. I thought that Geoff was simply completely outnumbered by his wife and his 3 girls so played on the idea.
Editing
Just tweeking exposure and removing the 2 white boxes that Geoff was stood on.
In my camera bag
Spare camera body loaded with alternative lens. (always better than having to stop and change lenses.)
I usually have a prime lens (length depends on what I'm shooting) on my Canon 5D SR and a 24-105 zoom on my Canon 5D Mk4 so in my kit bag I usually have a range of other prime lenses.
Feedback
Start with the assumption that anything is possible until you prove it is not. That way you can get to work on any idea for an image. The process will often change and develop into new ideas so start with several concepts in the background. This was a relatively simple idea but in the same shoot we also managed a great family shot with balloons and some fun portraits with the girls.
