Behind The Lens

Location

The photos was taken in Ocotepec, México, which was about an hour or so away from my home. The time to get there was definitely worth the result of the photo.

Time

I think that this is one of my absolute favorite photos because it was taken midday when everyone was inside cooling off or shopping at the downtown plaza. It was the perfect time to capture a good street photo with no people in the way.

Lighting

I really wanted to capture the picture more toward midday where the sun was just peaking through the clouds. I also wanted to showcase the blues and oranges for a more real and authentic look.

Equipment

This was shot with my iPhone 7+ camera and edited on Snapseed. No other equipment was used.

Inspiration

When you look up photos of México, the top pictures are photos of resorts or heavy populated tourist locations. No one ever gets to see the real México with people on the streets, dogs running around and all the little stores littering a street. Authentic town are the places where it’s real and lively.

Editing

Not really. All it takes is a lot of patience and knowing that there are times when you take a lot of photos but only a couple turn out. It’s really a big trial and error kind of process.

In my camera bag

I haven’t had time to purchase a new camera so I can only take pictures with my iPhone 7+ camera.

Feedback

Be patient and your photo will come sooner or later. It takes time and patience but the end result is ALWAYS worth the wait!!
