Location
This was taken in Richmond Park in London.Time
This was taken in August 2020, during a heatwave. It was early morning when I took it about an hour after sunrise.Lighting
It was still golden hour so the light was still softer, I prefer this time of day for shooting wildlife.Equipment
It was taken on an Olympus M1X, with the 300mm f4 lens with 1.4 converter. Handheld.Inspiration
The way the stag looked, he was away from any others and almost looked like he was waiting for his photo to be taken.Editing
Added contrast and increased the warmth slightly. In my camera bag
I usually carry an Olympus M1X with a 300mm f4 prime on it, and an Olympus M1 mkiii with a 40-150 f2.8 on it. I also carry an MC14 and MC20 teleconvertor.Feedback
Stay well back from the deer especially in rutting season, if you stand and watch them they often come closer anyway and have a more relaxed attitude. If you approach them too much they look uncomfortable or run.
