Location
This photo was taken at a local park during the spring. I was leaving the park and saw this eastern bluebird waiting for its photo to be taken!Time
This is one of my favorite photos. The detail of the shot is awesome! I was leaving a local park after about an hour of taking photos of nature and other wildlife. This was taken about 4pm in the afternoon in the early spring months.Lighting
I wanted this photo to capture contrast and a shallow depth of field. The blue of the bird pops out to the viewer with the grey-cloudy background. The sun was about an hour before its setting time.Equipment
This photo was shot with my Sony a7ii. I used a Pentax 200mm F4. no tripod or flash were used.Inspiration
The lens is a full manual lens so capturing this photo is special to me because the bird stood still just in time for me to adjust my aperture, shutter speed, and focus. Bird watching is what has helped me in a season of covid quarantine; this photo is among my favorite that I have taken.Editing
I used Adobe Lightroom for my post-processing of this photo. I would consider this photo "dark and moody". Lens correction was applied. Some vignetting to bring the viewpoint to the center of the subject (the bird). Contrast was brought up to make the color of the bird pop out more. Blue's were brightened. This photo was also made cooler as well.In my camera bag
What's in my bag? In my Manfrotto pack I have my Sony a7ii with the kit lens. Pentax 200mm, Rokinon, 16mm, and my Helios 58mm. For affordability and to teach myself more about photography, I have used full manual lenses.Feedback
Patience Patience Patience is my advice when it comes to wildlife photography. Frequent spots that you know many birds/animals go to. Wait there. Sit still and listen. Enjoy the world! And sometimes, you can get amazing shots like this bird let me take!
