Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at my home in Texas, about a couple months after I got the cat in this very picture.

Time

This photo was taken either late afternoon or early evening, which is around my favorite time of the day. I think it was either a early April, to late May day in 2020.

Lighting

The lighting is pretty much natural sunlight.

Equipment

The Camera is that which is standard on the iPhone 11 Pro. No special lenses, tripods or flash. So the only equipment would be my iPhone 11 Pro and maybe my computer desk, to steady the phone.

Inspiration

Actually my cat inspired me to take this photo. As she had chosen me, and was watching something outside which might have been a bird on the feeder or something that caught her attention. But after taking it and seeing it on my phone, the photo made me think about the old TV show Touched by an Angel which caused me to do some playing with photographic filters.

Editing

Yes I actually ran the photo through an photo app, that I had downloaded to my iPhone that had some filters to it. Which I think might have been Camera360- Selfie Retouch. Anyway I just remember finding these sun beams, and blurring the background a little before applying the sunbeam to create an illusion of my cat talking to god kind of like when Tess was singing to god in Touched by an Angel.

In my camera bag

Just my phone

Feedback

The only advise I can give, is to just play around with things. And that sometimes means just sneaking a photo when you think you can, then playing with it after taking it to see what you create.
