A pride of 2 or 3 lionesses, a sub adult male and a handful of cubs had partially devoured an Oryx earlier that morning. Â While the rest of the pride slept off the feast under the shade of some trees. Â The carcass was left out in the open and was attracting the attention of a few jackals. Â This one lioness hauled the carcass over a fair distance to where her cubs were resting up. Â It was quite a battle in the heat and the oryxâ€™s horns putting on the brakes (you can see the sand being churned up in the bottom left of the shot).
