My neighbor grew them in one of her gardens last year. I find them so fascinating and romantic to look at.Time
This particular photo I took late morning. I've also taken photos early in the morning and late in the day of these flowers.Lighting
Nothing in particular.Equipment
I'm thinking I shot with my Canon 5D Mark IV with the Tamron SP 9mm F2.8 lens at f/4.0, 1/200sec, ISO 100, no tripod.Inspiration
I find the "Moonflower" to be quite fascinating since it can live at this stage for several days and then when it finally opens up at dusk it dies when the sun kisses its petals the next morning. If the seeds, leaves and/or roots are eaten, smoked or brewed into a tea, it can cause hallucinations and or/other medical issues within a short period of time. Pretty to look at, consequences to ingest.Editing
I shoot in raw so do my post-edit in Lightroom. In my camera bag
My equipment depends on what I think I might want to photograph when I go out. I like to travel light on my outings unless I'm going for a long drive or am traveling at which point I am most likely to have two bags. Always have an extra battery or two in the pockets. I shoot with the Canon EOS 80d and the Canon 5D Mark IV. I'm a huge fan of Tamron lens.Feedback
Macro is a huge challenge in my opinion. If at all possible use a tripod and try photographing at different times of the day ie: early morning, late afternoon.
