This photo was taken along East Dallas Road in the San Juan Mountains of southeastern Colorado. Mt. Sneffels is the peak in the background.Time
I arrived about an hour before sunrise, and combined with the time of day, the elevation, and the time of year (early October), the wind chill was a frigid 25 degrees F.Lighting
First light was to my left, and because of cloud cover, the aspens, in various stages of turning, were lit first.Equipment
This image was shot with a Nikon D850 with a Nikkor 24-120 f/4 lens, all supported by a Manfrotto 190B Pro 4-section carbon fiber tripod.Inspiration
This is a fairly well-known spot for fall colors, so we had planned to be here at this spot and time.Editing
