buskers dream

a selection of old victorian glass bottles lit up using a ring flash-light and a long exposure in darkness.

I was given the chance to photograph some of my friends collection of legal firearms and this was one of the results.

A few props I had hanging around placed together to create a ww2 theme (despite the hat being 1950s)

Another EP-CD cover I took for Dewsbury based band Little Vegas Lies, the photograph was taken at 1am looking North over the M1 from junction 40, long

I found this lead dice at a site I was metal detecting, it dates from the 1300s and is unusual in the fact the opposing sides do not add up to 7.

Experimenting with darkness and torchlight I decided to create a "stone henge" replica using music related books

My good friend Mr Krazey Dayz agreed to let me take this photograph of him, I created the smoke effect using cigarette smoke.

Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken while out on a camping trip by the canals of Wakefield

Time

It was taken around 4am just past sunrise, there was a stunning low mist and I was the only person around (awake) other than those I was out camping with.

Lighting

All natural light with very little post processing

Equipment

Nikon D60 and standard 18-55 lens

Inspiration

The way the dew drops glistened on the flower caught my eye

Editing

I did very little other than a bit of cropping and enhancing the contrast slightly

In my camera bag

I am using a Nikon d3200 now with the 18-55 lens, I sometimes take a tripod and remote with me depending on where and what I am intending shooting

Feedback

Do not be afraid to use the camera's presets, I used the Nikons macro setting for this shot and got in as close as I could to the subject
