I took this photograph in the living room of my flat after a discussion with one of my friends about me wanting a guitar made from coins, the above image however was a cheap electric guitar I had purchased, I had a jar full of change so decided to see what it would look like, I had to use blu-tack and sellotape to keep the coins from sliding on the curved body.Time
It was dark outside at around 10:22 Pm I use blackout curtains to keep the street lights from shining into my room.Lighting
The only light source I used was a high powered torch, I turned off my living room light and using a long exposure shone the torch across the guitar.Equipment
Nikon D60, Velbon tripod, 18-55 lens, "Police" high powered torchInspiration
I wanted to do something unique and creative, as an ex busker I have spent many years travelling, playing guitar on the streets and earning money through this until I became too ill to do it. This photo is my reprsentation of a life of busking.Editing
I did darken the edges of the image and used a monochrome setting on Photoscape editor, I also cropped the image to fit.In my camera bag
just my Nikon D3200 (which replaced the D60) with standard 18-55 lens, a few cleaning cloths, remote and a lens brush.Feedback
use long exposures, complete darkness with no other light source other than a torch and experiment.
